Aissetou Jaiteh
Aissetou Jaiteh was born in Palermo on 05/05/1988.
She began her African dance studies as a child thanks to her mother. Her academic career began when she
was only 11 years old, in 2000 at the zumbì school of Afro-Brazilian culture. She participated in several
stages with famous names in Afro-Brazilian dance such as Mestre King (Raimundo Bispo Do Santos) the
teacher Ninha, and the sesc dancer Jacira valoiz. In addition to studying dance, he became passionate
about capoeira, which he did for eight years, and the study of Afro-Brazilian percussion with Mestre Zoi
Do Nascimento. Since 2007 she has been deepening her African dance culture with maestros Rossella
Xelovich, Leni Sorlini and Fatumhata Camarà; through internships and assiduous attendance with some of
them. since 2008 she has been pursuing her path as a teacher of African d-dance. From 2010 she began
her studies with internationally renowned teachers such as Gerard Diby Yama Wade . In 2012, together
with Ousman Toure, she participated in the show Memories of a Continent. In 2013 with Bifalou Kuyate
and Sourakata Diubate, with whom she studied traditional dances, this path of research into tradition led
her to embark on her first journey to discover her origins with the residential stage in Senegal with Yama
Wade. In 2015, she took part in Giulia Ceolin and Geranr diby's choreographic workshop that led to the
show le Bijeux. She participates in two master classes at mama africa to increase her knowledge of dance
with Gerard Diby and Evelin Mambo, and in the tenth anniversary of the same festival with Evelyn
Mambo and Yansane, which leads to the festival's closing performance.
